Terms of use

These terms cover the Orange app and this website. By using Orange you agree to them.
Your account
You need an account to use Orange, and you sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to a contract where you live.
Your content stays yours
The notes, quotes and arrangements you make in Orange belong to you. We claim no ownership of them. We do not read them, publish them or use them to train anything.
If you turn on cloud sync, you give us permission to store and transmit your content for the single purpose of syncing it to your own devices. That permission ends when you turn sync off or delete your account.
Quoting other people’s books
Orange is a tool for keeping short passages for your own study and reference. You are responsible for what you copy into it and for what you publish out of it. Reproducing substantial portions of a copyrighted work, or sharing them publicly beyond what fair use or fair dealing permits, is your responsibility, not ours.
What we own
The app, the Worlds, the stickers, the artwork, the name and the code are ours. You may use them within Orange. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse-engineer them, or extract the artwork for use elsewhere.
Cards you export from Orange are yours to post anywhere, including commercially — that is what the feature is for.
Subscriptions
Orange Plus is a recurring subscription billed through your Apple ID. It renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your device’s Settings under your Apple ID; you cannot cancel it from inside the app.
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us. If prices change, the new price applies from your next renewal and we will tell you beforehand.
If you stop subscribing
You keep every note you captured and every book you took from the Stash. Premium Worlds and their sticker packs stop being available, and your app returns to the free World. Nothing you created is deleted.
Printed posters
Prints are made to order by a fulfilment partner. Because each one is made for you, orders cannot be cancelled once production starts. If an item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 30 days and we will replace it. Delivery estimates are estimates.
Fair use of the service
You agree not to:
- break the law with it, or use it to harass anyone;
- attempt to access other users’ accounts or data;
- scrape, overload, probe or interfere with the service;
- resell access, or use the service to build a competing product.
Ending it
You may stop using Orange and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
No promises we can’t keep
Orange is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running and correct, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Orange after that means you accept the new terms.
